Dr. Howard Leifer

D.D.S.

Dr. Howard M Leifer received his DDS from the New York University College of Dentistry in 1972. Before joining the practice in 1974, he completed a two year residency with the United States Air Force. In addition, Dr. Leifer has completed over 1,500 hours of advanced dental education courses, to keep up with the latest techniques and technologies in dental and oral healthcare.

Dr. Leifer is a life member of the American Dental Association and also belongs to the Academy of General Dentistry, the Dental Society of the State of New York, the Third District Dental Association, Ulster Greene Dental Study Club, and served for 30 years as Chairman of the Peer Review Committee for Greene, Ulster, and Columbia Counties.

Dr. Leifer specializes in all phases of family dentistry and constantly strives to deliver the most advanced, comfortable, and long-lasting dentistry to all patients.

Dr. Leifer grew up in Brooklyn, NY and currently lives in the Hudson Valley with his wife Ellen. Together they have four children and six grandchildren. In his spare time, he enjoys golf, skiing, and spending time with his family. He has also been a member of the American Cancer Society of Greene County and the Rotary Club of Catskill.

Dr. Thomas Bruno

D.D.S.

Dr. Thomas Bruno received his DDS from the University of Buffalo School of Dental Medicine in 1985. He completed a one year general practice residency at Erie County Medical Center Hospital before joining the practice in 1987.

Dr. Bruno is a member of the American Dental Association, New York State Dental Association, and the Third District Dental Society.

He lives in Athens, NY with his wife Claudia. Together they have three grown children and a black lab named Ivy. In his spare time, Dr. Bruno enjoys outdoor activities of all types, including hunting, fishing, and golf.

Dr. Stacey Russell

D.D.S.

Dr. Russell specializes in Invisalign, crowns and bridges, implants, root canals, extractions, fillings, and cosmetic procedures including veneers and tooth whitening. He recently joined Catalano Leifer Bruno and Russell after being in private practice for over 15 years. Dr. Stacy Russell received his DDS from the University of Buffalo School of Dental Medicine and served his residency at the Albany VA Hospital.

Dr. Russell grew up in Chatham, NY and has a wife, son, and daughter. He served in the U.S. Navy on the battleship Wisconsin during the Persian Gulf War. In his spare time, Dr. Russell enjoys coaching his son’s traveling baseball team and Little League team. He also assists with his children’s Catskill CYO basketball teams.

Dr. Madina Khabiyeva

Dr. Jay Vuong

D.D.S.

Dr. Jay Vuong is an Endodonist and root canal specialist practicing in the area for many years. He is a specialist dentist, focusing on tooth pain, root canals and other issues related to the interior part of the tooth. He is committed to saving teeth, relieving patients of discomfort and pain helping them maintain a natural smile for a lifetime.

Dr. Vuong is associated with the American Association of Endodontistand and Phi Beta Kappa national honors society.

Dr. Ryan Turner

D.D.S., MS

Dr. Ryan Turner has joined Catalano, Leifer, Bruno, and Russell, and will be bringing his wealth of expertise in Periodontics and Implant Surgery to their practice. Dr. Turner graduated from the prestigious Columbia University College of Dental Medicine in 2010, where he was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon (OKU) National Dental Honor Society the same year. Dr. Turner was an Assistant Clinical Instructor and the Chief Resident in Periodontics and Implant Surgery at Columbia University College of Dental Medicine. As a board certified periodontist and implant surgeon, he specializes in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of periodontal diseases, as well as in the placement of dental implants, bone grafting, and oral reconstruction.

Dr. Turner is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology. He is a member of the Academy of Osseointegration, American Academy of Implant Dentistry, International Congress of Oral Implantologists, and American Dental Association, among other respected organizations. Dr. Turner is certified in Pinhole® Surgical Technique (PST) for gum rejuvenation and performs LASER surgery. His research in the field of Periodontics was awarded the famous Birnberg Research Award and has been published in a number of world-renown dental journals. He has lectured at various meetings and seminars in the field.

Dr. Turner is excited to be able to offer his services to Catskill and the surrounding areas.

Dr. Westin Doney

Dr. Westin Doney received both a Bachelor of Science in Biology and his Doctor of Dental Surgery from SUNY Buffalo. To further his skills, Dr. Doney pursued a General Practice Residency at Upstate Medical Hospital in Syracuse.

Originally from Palenville NY, Dr. Doney was inspired by the positive experiences in his childhood dentist’s office. He is fun, emphatic, and likes to laugh with patients. It is his goal to make the dentist a less stressful experience for his patients.

Dr. Doney believes coffee is good for the soul, which he enjoys while going through his morning charts. He is a former music teacher and can play several instruments including the trumpet, euphonium, and guitar. In his spare time Dr. Doney enjoys hiking and enjoying nature or gaming including Dungeons & Dragons.
